FAQs

What can you draw? I draw portraits of people, pets and even houses; in fact I'll draw almost anything you want. How do you work? I work from photographs, therefore the photo you choose is very important. The subject has to be in focus, and not smaller than 8 centimetres on the photo (otherwise there isn't enough detail when I enlarge it). It is possible to put subjects from different photos in the same portrait if the lighting is the same (you can tell by looking at where the shadows fall). If you're not sure, we can go through a selection of photos and see what will work. What if I haven't got any good photos? I can take good photos for you - see the charges below. How long does it take? I will tell you exactly when you commission me, but as a guide allow 14-28 days. How much does it cost? The prices below are for animal or people pencil portraits. I'll give you a price for any other work, including colour work, after discussion. Do you frame the artwork? No. How do I know you're any good!? Take a look through the portraits in the gallery. There are some original photos that I worked from so that you can make your own mind up…
